Typically pipe and fittings have markings that indicate the material from which they are made and the specification to which they are made. To cover all of these with a chart is a pretty good task since this covers ASTM, ANSI, API, AWWA and other standards and specifications.

They may also have the manufacturers indentification or symbol. That is a completely different can of worms.

You begin with the material being contained, the design conditions of pressure and temperature, and then proceed to select the best materials, the appropriate flange rating and pipe wall thickness.

The subject is far to complex to begin to answer here, you need to obtain a book on piping design to begin to learn the answers to your question.

As an example: There are upper and lower temperature limits on a material such as ASTM A-106 pipe. There is also certain corrosive fluids that this material would not be appropriate for. This also holds true for flanges, valves, bolting and gaskets. Typically you would choose the most inexpensive material and see if it were appropriate by looking at the allowable conditions for its use as stated in the appropriate codes.

I don't know man if you turn the boost up maybe 250 hp 195 ft.lbs of torque. With a built engine you can crank the boost to like 20 psi. Seriously consider a K20 swap though before you pour out all this money a K20 with a supercharger will be right there beisde you if not in front
