  • Call someone who sells pipe (not your supplier, a stranger- even someone in another state) and tell them what your situation is, and ask if they could kindly recommend a course of action! =)

turbotoyotaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. seriously, turbotoyota. you will get the most gains seen out of any bolt on kit on the market right now. i have a friend whose on the stage 1 turbotoyota kit making 310 whp and 272 torque @ 10psi off of this bolt on kit. he does have the aftermarket exhaust which also does help with the hp.

actually, for the tc's the pistons already come sleeved. you also do not need to install a fuel pump either. these kits were made to work with the tc's stock parts. the engine already comes with sleeved pistons which is why the engine can handle up to 350 hp on stock internals. once you go above the 350 hp mark, then yes you will need to strengthen in the pistons, etc. you will also need to upgrade your clutch after installing the stage 1 kit, as the added power will cause your tranny to slip (manual) or warp (auto).

but yeah, on top of the installation of the kit, you need to pay for gauges, gauge pod, exhaust, upgraded clutch, tune, and you should also have some money left over for the "just in case" situations. you kinda need to plan for the worst when installing and driving a turbocharged car, since it was n/a to begin with the likelyhood that something bad may happen is greater than a stock turbo car. just pay attention to the car, maintain it properly and it should be okay. go to the link and to the forum, talk to a guy named java09. ask him about his turbotoyota kit.

  • Nate:

You will need bigger fuel injectors and a bigger fuel pump to feed the larger injectors. You will also need to rebuild your motor because putting a turbocharger on a car that old that probably has over 100k miles will cause it to blow rather quickly not to mention that the transmission and clutch may not be able to handle the added power either.

  • I don't know man if you turn the boost up maybe 250 hp 195 ft.lbs of torque. With a built engine you can crank the boost to like 20 psi. Seriously consider a K20 swap though before you pour out all this money a K20 with a supercharger will be right there beisde you if not in front

  • @josh256able

    Haha

  • You begin with the material being contained, the design conditions of pressure and temperature, and then proceed to select the best materials, the appropriate flange rating and pipe wall thickness.

The subject is far to complex to begin to answer here, you need to obtain a book on piping design to begin to learn the answers to your question.

As an example: There are upper and lower temperature limits on a material such as ASTM A-106 pipe. There is also certain corrosive fluids that this material would not be appropriate for. This also holds true for flanges, valves, bolting and gaskets. Typically you would choose the most inexpensive material and see if it were appropriate by looking at the allowable conditions for its use as stated in the appropriate codes.

  • hey i love this video. im trying to stay in shape the summer!!!

  • Typically pipe and fittings have markings that indicate the material from which they are made and the specification to which they are made. To cover all of these with a chart is a pretty good task since this covers ASTM, ANSI, API, AWWA and other standards and specifications.

They may also have the manufacturers indentification or symbol. That is a completely different can of worms.

  • More space than this website has available for one answer! You must do your own research on this. Buy a copy of the relevant standards for yourself!

  • @RockxChick16

It is easy after you do it for a while.. all training is as your body adapts.
