How to Choose The Right Nutritional Health Supplements

How to Choose The Right Nutritional Health Supplements

As our lifestyles become more and more fast-paced and our diets become more and more “fast food,” our need for nutritional health supplements continues to grow. It is no surprise then that the dietary supplement industry has experienced explosive growth in recent years, with products being marketed for everything from better health to anti aging to improving your sexual libido. Yet, while more people are buying supplement products every day, many of these same people know very little about the products that they are taking and what these products are even supposed to do. With the proliferation of new products available, it is important for people to learn how to choose the best nutritional health supplement for them.

When choosing a nutritional supplement, the first step is to determine why you want to take a supplement in the first place. Do you want to boost your immune system and prevent getting sick? Are you looking to stop the signs of aging, or perhaps seeking to improve your sexual performance? Or maybe you are just looking to improve your overall health and prevent disease in the long run. In any case, you should figure out what your reasoning is, and then find out which supplements are supposed to have the intended effect. Research carefully to find out which claims are totally bogus and which products are most likely effective.

Once you have chosen a dietary supplement, it is time for the hard part: choosing a brand that you can trust. Since nutritional supplements are largely unregulated in most countries, this can be a scary task. But you do not have to fear, there are several steps you can take to ensure that you are buying a trusted brand and a safe, effective product.

The first thing you should always do is research the manufacturer. Is the manufacturer a member of the Better Business Bureau or some other similar organization? Make sure your supplements are coming from a company with a good reputation. Find out if the company has any negative reports or complaints from consumers. Secondly, check to see that the manufacturer has some type of seal of approval for its manufacturing processes.

When it comes to supplements, your health and safety are of the utmost importance. Finding a product that is both safe and delivers on its promises is mission number one. Following these steps will help to ensure that the health products you buy will be effective and safe. With these recommendations, you should be able to easily find the best nutritional health supplements for your needs.

  • You will want to contact an independent agent that works with Medicare Advantage plans in OK. Pre-existing conditions are not an issue unless you have ESRD (kidney failure). Each plan is county specific but there are 23 plans available in Oklahoma City and range in price from $0 to $218 per month. Many of these plans include prescription drug coverage. You can get on a plan that doesn't include the drug coverage and get a separate stand alone Part D plan, of which there are 56 plans available state-wide.

You must have both medicare parts A and B to get on a Medicare Advantage plan or either medicare parts A or B to get on a stand alone Part D plan.

  • @philippaabuhamad Since consuming anything containing pork is against your religion, I would suggest that you talk with your Doctor about possibly still having you take Levothyroxine (synthetic T4 medication) along with a small dose of Cytomel (synthetic T3 medication). But you need to work with your Doctor to see if this is the right way for you, and to determine the dose. I suggest you get lab tests for FT4, FT3 and TSH every time you get labs.

  • Biotin is usually good for building stronger nails and for healthier hair.

  • Armour is having issues with keeping up with consumption, and anything synthetic is bad for you. I love my Armour. Synthroid is BAD, and is man made. Armour is made of dissected thyroid for a pig. There other temp solutions you can take (I have no thyroid) that are made from Nutra-Bio and made from REAL dissected thyroid hormone.

  • Keep a big bottle of water handy all throughout the day. I never used to drink water during the day, and I always used to snack! Now, I vowed to quit snacking, and whenever I feel the urge, I drink some water. This always helps. Sometimes when you think you have a food craving, you are just thirsty for water. You might be bored–taking the drink of water gives you a moment to think, "Am I really hungry or in need of food?"

I eat only 3 meals per day and I do not snack. I used to snack ALL THE TIME. To quit, I started to count calories, and stuck to it. Once you realize the value of a calorie, you won't be tempted to mess up your daily caloric count. I also kept that bottle of water, and bought healthy snacks (removed all unhealthy temptations from my house–replaced with fat free yogurt, and veggies and fruits)

  • I would like to ask what happens when It’s against your religion to eat anything from a pig. Even if after taking levothyroxine symptoms continue…..what then?

  • The net has been buzzing about Fit Zone Advanced Complex, and the reviews are really good. I would suggest that you try out a free trial of a health supplement, and if you don't like it, cancel it before they bill you.

  • I am sorry – But as a thyroid patient for several years, I can ASSURE you that Synthroid and Levoxyl does not work for everyone. I suffered a great deal due to these meds and felt like a new person when I was switched to Armour. It is devastating that Armour changed their ingredients and is now no longer in production. I am back on Levoxyl (as is my family) and we are miserable….The “natural” approach definitely worked better.

  • Armour thyroid is naturaul….. if you’re a pig. Sorry nikolauhull, synthroid is not “bad”, but neither is Armour. Dr. Langer is incorrect by saying the conversion of T4 to T3 happens in the liver. In fact it occurs intracellularly after the cell has take up the prohormone. Synthroid and Levoxyl will work for any- and everyone, but only at the correct dose! Please don’t think the most commonly prescribed thyroid supplement (T4) is unsuafe or does not work because that is simply untrue.

  • Go to the Save Natural Thyroid site and fight to save natural thyroid. Sign our petition to keep the FDA from banning this important drug. The synthetics like Synthroid or Levoxyl do not work for many who suffer from hypothyroidism.

  • jpro:

what if the pills are not avalible? do I die? Or is there some other form of natural suppliments for the tyroid?I have had mine removed and worry. What exactly is synthroid and amour made of?

  • It sounds like you are on the right track. So many people expect amazing results when they haven't even exercised. It is sad that many people think that in 2 weeks that can undo the damage that they have did to there body for years.

Fit Zone Advanced from what I have read around the net, is a really good diet pill, that aids in weight loss, and suppresses your appetite. Check the source box for the link.

  • Ryan:

Hydroxycut Hardcore. A little pricey, but worth it.

  • Most women fail to get enough protein in their diets, protein is KEY for energy, recovery, and muscle growth. It doesn't make you fat, and actually increases your metabolism. I suggest getting a decent Whey Protein powder, and having 1 or 2 protein shakes a day. If people bother you about it just says it's chocolate milk.

Do not worry about the bodybuilder look, it doesn't come accidentally OR easy without the help of tanning booths, diuretics, competition diets to get in the super low fat ranges, and steroids/growth hormones. you will NOT look like them, if you lift heavy and hard and give it your full effort, you are going to get amazing and sexy results
